Mobile Music Center: Asus Eee PC vs. iPod Touch

By | October 22, 2009

After yesterday’s rant on music services online, I’ve had some success with KKBox, Last.Fm and Sky.fm, all of which I enjoy for very different reasons. KKbox because I can choose the favorite songs for downloading, Last.FM for introducing me to some great new materials (both mainstream and independent) and Sky.FM for providing streaming niche-oriented music channels so I can enjoy music over several hours.

With my Sony MP3 player broken, and the Samsung player missing, I am now wondering it it’s time for some great Christmas presents… could we be about to buy ipods, one for me and one for her? I am inclined to go for an iPod Touch rather because of its slim form and capacious size rather than a more traditional iPod.

Of course, there are good arguments why you could use an Asus Eee PC as your portable music center! It’s got a lot more to offer, isn’t tied into the iPod system, and can play unlimited formats. The only thing you can’t do with an Eee PC is go jogging with it! Other than that, though, it’s got to make a compelling deal, and it’s the same price.
