I’ve never had a cat or a dog in my adult life, but I do have a friend who keeps a number of different pets: cats, dogs, birds (and fish, I think)… It’s a kind of hobby that he enjoys.
But these pets can be kind of labor and cash intensive: you need to care for them, feed them, purchase cat supplies, buy dog food, get medical care or shots, … I sometimes wonder why people in Taiwan spend so much money on these animals… Perhaps I just have a cold heart! But if I did have the time, I’d go for a dog any day. Cats … I’m not a cat person, probably because of the smell that I now associate with them from an unfortunate friend of mine who had to live with an old lady who kept the smelliest cats. Phew!
