Anxiety and Depression: A Deadly Combination, but Easily Treated!

By | January 11, 2007

When I was in my final year at University, I actually found myself a victim of Anxiety Attacks that I was unable to continue with my final year at University. I had to take a break from my studies, and finish the final year six months later. It was quite debilitating at the time, but thanks to the intervention of several kind individuals, including a trained therapist, all of whom recognized the Symptoms of Anxiety Attacks, I was treated successfully, managed to regain control of my situations, and complete my final year.

For me, there was a strong connection with Stress as the proximity of Final Exams were definitely influencing factors in my anxiety attacks. Though I was offered meds to help control the symptoms, the most powerful techniques included Cognitive Techniques that taught me to think critically and rationalize the feelings. That has really been a great benefit to me through the last twenty years!
