It’s not every day that you come across one of your former students on the Flickr! I remember meeting Johnny many years ago, as the young man prepared to go to school in the US.
Johnny impressed me a lot because he loved to wear different kinds of jewelry: ear rings and piercings were his favorite.
The trouble was he was going for an interview for a visa to the US, and I remember telling him that at least for the interview, he should dress fairly formally, remove the piercing for a while, and remove the excess earrings for the short time he was in the interview.
I have no idea to this day if he actually took my advice. Whatever he did, I hope he got his dream of studying in the US.
