Supporting Microlending

By | July 26, 2006

Investorblogger recently ponied up $25 to support Kiva.org in its mission to provide microlending to developing world business people who are starting out. Getting access to loans is a challenge in the first world at best, but in the developing world it is often impossible to secure loans due to lack of decent credit records, lack of transparent lending practices, inability to evaluate and provide risk assessment of loan candidates, lack of collateral amongst loanees, ridiculous interest rates at the banks, etc.. I’m hoping that the money I provide will go some way to make it easier to help others microbusiness people.
