Stylish but Sweaty: Fashionista is back!

Are you kidding? Summer or Fall in Taiwan with a blazer and wool jumper and large boots like those? Really, really, really impractical choice of clothes for summer or even fall in Taiwan!!!

Yes, you get 3 exclamation marks because for several months it’s been 25C in Taipei. I don’t even want to talk about the temperature in the center or south of the island.

I think I know why it’s on a website called “FarFetch” – it’s farfetched to be wearing wool when it’s nearly 30C outside. Fashion choices? Well, perhaps, but not appropriate to the weather or climate here.

Synthetics are probably lighter and cooler choices for Taiwan. I keep to light layers, avoiding suits because humidity is high. Layer up for the sun (light layers) or for the cold wind (thicker layers).

Lighter shoes which don’t have to be water proof right now. Shorter pants or short pants in synthetic materials are best, if you can get away with it.

For the gals, skirts are probably best and tights for UV-control or warmth. Given the heat, I don’t really know why skirts aren’t a man’s choice in Taiwan, except men’s clothes are generally boring as f**k: colors, styles, fabrics, sets, … all included. Plus most men don’t have a clue how to dress (self-included).
