My first PCs looked like this…

It even had Logoscript, a printer and a diskdrive. The screen came in … 2 colors! By Marcin Wichary from San Francisco, U.S.A. – Amstrad PCW 8512 @ Amstrad PCW 8512 at National Museum of Computing, Bletchley Park, UK.

I don’t have any files from the original Amstrad. I gave away all the disks when I sold it. So this file is from the Twinhead machine in 1994. My boss wouldn’t buy a PC for me… typical of many cheapskates of the time: “What are employees going to do with that?”

10 years later at PCCU, the school wouldn’t even buy me a new PC… so I took a garbage PC, added a hard-disk on my dime and got it running. It was still a piece of junk.

In common with many schools of the time, they just saw their teachers as expendable cost centers, not productive profit makers. Which is bizarre when the business of the business is teaching.
