What do you wear to work?

For those of you don’t know, I work (read: co-own) in a language school in Taiwan, and have done on and off for many years. Overall, the job is quite fine, but some bosses have weird ideas about what teachers should look like when they are working here.

In some schools, the formal ones, teachers are expected to wear neckties, business suits and formal attire. In the less formal schools, the bosses require that all employees wear company logo shirts with the particular franchise emblazoned all over them.

As a teacher, though, sometimes our jobs do get dirty: cleaning desks, floors and whatnot, it’s difficult to imagine that if I’m wearing a suit, I’ll be clamboring on desks and replacing lights or cleaning a/cs. So a stack of replaceable, comfortable Tees really is the order of the day, esp. if the boss is paying for them!
