Seems Text Link Ads Co. isn’t keeping users informed!

Paypal has been increasing its fees substantially, but the knock-on effects are still being felt, with TLA for one:

A former user, I have already contacted them twice about the change in rates that they imposed without notification or warning or even a simple "I’m sorry" post… TLA no longer offers a 50%-50% revenue share with publishers, because they’ve now excised a large portion with a 5% service fee. Except they forgot to tell anyone, and they forgot to update their TOS. Nice going.

Excerpt from their site, dated 10/19/2013.

We feature a 50/50 net revenue split for all ads sold. We handle serving, scheduling, billing, customer service, and sales.

So I informed them in the same snooty terms:

"Package deactivated for failing to inform publishers that there was a material change in our Terms of Service.

I have used TLA for years as my account will testify. I’m curious to know why we were not told of an alteration to the payment terms of our accounts. And a 5% was deducted from last month’s fees. As your website still notes, there is supposedly a 50%-50% revenue share for publishers. What publishers ended up with was not that. (Edit: If I’m getting 45%, then the advertiser is paying the other 45% to TLA, where is the 10% going?)

I’d like a reply explaining the current situation before reactivating my remaining sites.

Yours
ex TLA publisher"

Having already had several sites dumped by TLA, even when one had PAYING clients who were dumped right in the middle of the month, this doesn’t bode well for users of TLA.

But given that they didn’t respond to my previous complaints, it’s unlikely they’ll even acknowledge this. Pity, because I earned them over $6,661.90 in the last five or six years. Perhaps that doesn’t matter to them.
