Multiple Hundreds of Reports: Is Booking.com in trouble?

By | October 17, 2023

Is booking dot com having financial problems? I see from researching the payment delayed situation that it affects hundreds of hoteliers across multiple countries.

Here are some stories from Japan, the UK, Hungary, Thailand, Denmark,… and there are still new cases coming in.

So I started digging through their financials: CEO, CFO are both selling shares like they’re going out of fashion. You can do your own D&D. But the company is almost entirely owned by funds, not individuals.

So why would Booking.com hold on to revenue from June onwards…? The claim is that their IT systems upgrade hadn’t gone according to plan. Well, that’s a major f**k up.

I remember diving into what Google was doing a while back and found that Google was trying to prop up its share price by axing advertisers approaching payout. Google was sued and, predictably, settled.

Could revenue be weak here, too? Revenue pushed from Q2 to Q3. How would that be booked? Would it be added to payables?
