Adding an external drive is a good way to carry around some of your data, but your portable hard drives are amongst the most valuable of all your data, considering what’s on them. So you should think carefully about how expensive they are (so replacing them isn’t impossible), how big their space is, and what kind of encryption is encluded. After all, you wouldn’t want them being lost and readable, now would you?
