I hadn’t heard of conjugated linoleic acid until I started reading about this in the Wikipedia entry. I can’t be exactly sure that Wikipedia is accurate, but it is interesting the CLA seems to have some beneficial preventative qualities and that the US FDA seems to have accorded it Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status….
